Autumn Harvest Festival


Sunday 8 May 2011 10.30am-5pm
Right through autumn we hurry to harvest Lavandula's fruit, vegetables, nuts, grapes and olives. Then we process them for winter food.
At our little autumn festival we demonstrate how our crops are harvested and processed:
- Jam making
- Fruit bottling
- Roasting chestnuts
- Basketmaking with lavender
- Pickling olives with lemon or brine
- Marinating your own olives
And you'll find a few stalls:
- the season's organic foraged fruit
- Barfold olives
- Chestnuts, fresh or roasted
- Gorgeous (live) chooks and fresh eggs
- Swiss Italian family history
- Travel tales of Ticino
Entry: $5 adults, $2 school-age children
